Lookout Mountain has so much potential with a vast selection of trails and lookout points with out of this world views. You can find landscape city views, the Denver Skyline, and the Rocky Mountains here. It is known as Goldens tallest peak standing at more than 7,300 feet above the city. Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave resides at the top of Lookout Mountain which will fancy anyone looking for fascinating history of the Old West. Lookout Mountain is one of my all-time favorite spots for Engagement sessions because of the variety! If you want City Views, check. You want Mountains, check. If you want the Forest, Rocks, Trees, Views.. CHECK!! It is a great location for Golden Hour, Sunset, and even Night Shots with the Glow of the City lights sparkling in the distance. It really is incredible getting lost at Lookout Mountain and getting some of the best Colorado has to offer close to the city.

One of the most beautiful and easy to get to Mountain views right outside Denver, CO. Mount Falcon Park boasts with easy to vigorous trails with multiple historic sites such as the ruins of John Brisben Walker’s castle and the cornerstone of the would-be summer White House of the U.S. Presidents. The Mountain views start from the parking lot, making it incredibly easy to get some stunning landscape shots without having to take a major hike. If you decide to hike, the summit of Mount Falcon has epic views of Mount Evans and a distant view of Denver’s cityscape. Sunset here is breath-taking making it one of my favorite spots for Engagement Sessions.

Echo Lake sits at an elevation of 10,600 ft. at the base of Goliath Peak. It has been a favorite spot of mine for over a decade with it being a short drive from Denver with stunning views of Echo Lake and Mount Evans. Cyclists from all over the world come to compete in the annual Mount Evans Hill Climb, a 27.4 mile bicycle race with a total of 6,915 vertical feet of climbing. Surrounding the area, you can get lost in the Trees with minimal hiking for a Rustic feel for your Engagement Photos. Dogs are allowed on a leash through the easy to navigate trails surrounding the Lake making it the perfect, well rounded Engagement Session location.

Right when you arrive, you’ll notice a stunning pond with a view of Longs Peak and the Front Range in the distance. The views only get better as you explore down the trail to four different ponds and stumble upon wildlife such as blue herons, waterfowl, and cormorants. The trail loops around and through the different ponds leading to St. Vrain Creek and a STUNNING waterfall you won’t want to miss! If you want mountains, water views, wildlife, and easy accessibility, Golden Ponds Park is the perfect Engagement Session spot for you.

Cheesman Park is a local favorite to let your dogs wander off-leash and to play yard games with your friends in its large grassy lawn. It includes a Greek-style Memorial Pavilion that was once also known as Denver’s “Temple in the Sun.” This makes for a great Engagement session location if you want a peaceful retreat in Denver with a touch of an Urban feel.

If you want a stunning lake with some Mountain views with a “suburban/city feel” this might be the spot for you! Chatfield State Park is a hot spot for music festivals and water recreational activities like boating, kayaking, fishing and more, nestled in the foothills of Littleton, Colorado. It’s a great spot to bring the pups for some off leash fun with 69 acres of off-leash dog areas. The park hosts roughly 1.7 million visitors annually as one of the most popular parks near Denver, Colorado. It’s busy most of the time, so expect Colorado natives kicking back and enjoying their down time here regardless of when you plan to visit.

Sloan’s Lake Park is a fantastic location for engagement sessions, offering a beautiful lake, expansive lawns, and panoramic views of the city skyline and mountains. With its convenient location and picturesque backdrops, Sloan’s Lake Park is a favorite among couples and photographers.

If you are looking for a City Engagement Session with Roof Top Parking Garages, city views, and a more laid-back vibe, Auraria and the CU Campus in downtown Denver is perfect! Close by there are multiple Parking Garages such as the Tivoli and 7th Street Parking garage that both have a beautiful view of some of the skyscrapers of Denver. Stroll through the streets of the Campus for some beautiful Architecture and Greenery without being in the heart of downtown. I love taking couples here who want a “Relaxed City” vibe for their Engagement Photos.

Union Station, located in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado, is a historic and iconic location for engagement sessions. The beautifully restored train station features stunning architecture, vibrant interiors, and a bustling atmosphere. With its mix of modern amenities and historic charm, Union Station provides a unique and elegant backdrop for capturing memorable engagement photos.
Permits Required for Both Inside AND Outside of Union Station: Union Station has two separate permits. One is for Wynkoop Plaza (the exterior) and the other for inside the building. Both are free, submit an application through the Downtown Denver Website. A Request must be submitted at least five business days before the shoot and a certificate of insurance in required. If you plan to photograph both inside and outside Union Station, you must submit two applications with the requested date, time, and number of people apart of the photoshoot. The interior does not allow Flash or Tripods. Professional Photography is only allowed in the Great Hall of Union Station and is not are allowed in the Cooper Lounge or the Crawford Hotel.
